What to Bring

At Coast ‘N Currents Realty, we want your time on the Outer Banks to be all about relaxation, adventure, and soaking in the salt air—not running errands. To help you settle in and make the most of your stay, we’ve gathered a few suggestions on what to bring along. Each of our vacation rentals comes with a small starter kit of basic necessities, but unlike hotels, there’s no daily service—so disposable and personal items aren’t refreshed during your visit.
Beach & Home Essentials
Make your stay easy and comfortable with these must-haves:
- Sunscreen and sun protection gear
- Toilet paper and paper towels
- Toiletries like soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion
- Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
- Extra pillowcases or linens
- Hair dryer and clothing hangers
- Beach gear—chairs, umbrellas, coolers, blankets, and towels
- Bicycles or scooters for exploring the island
- Fishing gear for pier, surf, or offshore fun
- For little ones: crib sheets, beach/pool toys, and floaties. Don't forget the swim diapers!
Kitchen & Cooking Supplies
- Trash bags
- Dish soap and dishwasher detergent
- Coffee filters, paper products
- Aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and food storage bags
- Charcoal and grill tools (if your home has a charcoal grill)
- Reusable grocery bags for quick store runs
Traveling with Pets
- Food and water bowls
- Leash, harness, and cleanup bags
- Floating toys for water play
- Towels for drying off after a beach adventure
And remember—if it’s hot for you, it’s hot for them! Always give pets shade and protect their paws from hot sand or pavement.
